RSS Powered Advertising

RSS, which has to this point mostly been used to retrieve information via news readers, is now being rolled out as a back-end to advertising.    Here’s an example of a badge on Memeorandum, a blog conversation news site, that uses RSS to power it.   Why is this a big deal for advertisers?  Now advertisers don’t have to send assets aywhere, or require anyone else to do work when changing copy.  They just change what’s being pushed out through their RSS feed, and it all gets taken care of instantly on the front end.
